Alright lets go over a few things you need to know when buying a board. The first thing you need to know is what kind of skating your going to be doing. If your looking for speed and bombing hills and not really doing any tricks you should go with a long board. But your into tricks and street skating and that kind of stuff you want a traditional board.

But there are a few things you want to look at. Ok so the first thing you want to look at is how much pop the board has. If the board has a lot of pop than your going to be able to get better, higher Ollies. The next thing you want to look at is how much concave the board has. Concave is how much the sides of the board curve in. You really have to test out different boards to find how much concave is right for you. The more concave a board has, the better the board flips over like doing kick flips.

But i personally think that to much concave is bad because you lose balance. But like i said you really have to find out for yourself how much concave your board should have. The next thing you want to look at is how wide the board is and what size to go with. If you have smaller feet you don't want to go with a large board like an 8.0, you would be better to go with a 7.5.

The average size board is 7.75, now if your going to be vert skating or getting a great deal of speed (like down hill) it would be better to go with a wider board for stability. And so you don't get speed wabble. So the best thing to do is go look at a couple boards and stand on them to find which is more comfortable for you. My personal favorite for boards is a blank mini logo, I love mini logos. They are great boards. And i also like zeros. They are more expensive boards, but they are very much worth it.
